Views from the
Clock Tower

|
These pictures you see on this page was really the result of someone
else's mistake. During the middle weekend of the two week football camp,
before school started in August, 1969, I roamed the empty halls of Main
Building looking for a way to enter the Clock Tower. While roaming, I
found a camera, believe it or not, no lie, with a fresh roll of film.
Well, of course I wasn't going to leave the camera, because in a week
someone else was gonna take it, so I figured, why not me. Anyways, I found
the access to the tower, took these pictures, and gee, history is made!
It's on the internet!

Southeast view, Western Piedmont Community College is
the group of buildings in the middle.

South view, looking over "New Gym".

West view, overlooking Upper School. If it wasn't hazy
that day, Table Rock could've be seen.
This picture was taken from the north side of the tower,
with the camera angled towards the heart of Morganton.
For reference purposes, Upper School would be located at
the left of this picture. When you enlarge this picture,
Fleming Dr. can be seen on the lower left.
