It was cloudy, cool 69 degrees, light winds, and the sun
came out twice
making this a very comfortable day for a picnic. And good eats, too. A
special and yummy, easy to make desert was served. We were disappointed
two long distance Classmates did not show up, but oh well, there's always
next time.

Resting...er...chatting after eating.

Although this Wilmington Deaf Community event is an annual White Lake
event in Elizabethtown, Una made the announcement that this was also
a Farewell Party for Mary Beth and Lee. Prayers were also given for
friends that passed away including Miki Simpson.
With Mary Beth and Lee leaving for Florida on June 15th, they
will be missed. Ye Ole Webmaster oftentimes pays them a visit in
Jacksonville, NC after finishing up on service calls in the area. Several
times we'll agree to meet somewhere at restaurant before I head
on back to Raleigh. Now, going to Jacksonville will not be the same.
Oh, yeah, the special desert was Butterscotch Nuts, yum, yum.
Easy to make, go to the baking section and pick up a bag of
butterscotch morsels, melt them in a soup pot or 9 x 9 cake
pan, throw in a cup of almonds, a cup of peanuts, and a cup of
pretzel sticks. Stir, let it cool a bit and scoop it into bite size
pieces and lay it on wax paper to finish cooling. |
