During the two week of football camp, while scouting the halls of Upper
School whilst the teachers were setting up their classes, the most obvious
change was on the first floor, across from the HS's principle's office. What
used to be a large gathering area, there were 6 foot high partitions
stretching from the outside walls of the classrooms between this open area
with a opening in the middle to enter this new classroom.
Mrs. Williams and Miss Leary recognized me (gulp) and during the course of
our conversations, I found out that I was member of this new class, Creative
Writing (a very large gulp). Excitingly they said "This class will be a lot
of fun! We'll be sitting on top of the partitions and hanging off the lights
to get ideas for writing!" Well, as it turns out, our
favorite feature of this class was receiving the weekly (or was it monthly?) scholastic paper
named "Scope", which we (creatively) called "Scoop".
This class, to me, was brain whacking, but hey, my grades here were better
than English and algebra of my previous fours years! |
