Webmaster's Note:
We thought it would be interesting to post this article about life on
campus for students
who could not go home for the Thanksgiving Holidays in the 1960s. This
article was also the
only article about Thanksgiving on campus that we could find in the issues
of
The North Carolinian that we have on hand.
Miss Shepard mentioned in the article was the Chief Counselor
(or Chief Supervisor)
of the girls in Main Building. The writer, Virgil
Jockisch, Jr., joined NCSD in the fall of 1964 along with two of our
Classmates, Donna Canady and Ray Rich. Click
here to see their The
North Carolinian picture. |
