Ye Ole Webmaster ran across the above article back in February (2008)
and emailed John and asked if he still watches the races or was
it a fad back in those days. His response:
Ha, Ha, you know me better than most of my friends
in High School, I used to go to the Hickory Speedway
almost every Friday night.
I still watch some of the races on TV but I don't sit 6
hours in one place anymore...
I followed a bit of Daytona race yesterday...
(February 17, 2008's race was the 50th Running of the Daytona
500.)
My sister, Nancy, and husband would host parties on race
day at home...get about 30 people watching 3 TVs
outdoors with barbeque going...
I must be getting old...I still watch college
basketball but from a comfy recliner...
and you????
To be fair to John, my response:
Nah, no sports for me. TV is on during the news and when the sports
are on I turn to the computer. I'll watch the NASCAR highlights during
the sports segment, but that's about it.
I will watch some of the Winter Olympics, luge I think that what they're
called, sledding down those half round trenches laying on their backs
and the other I think it's called bobsledding where groups of men push
their sleds and jump in before going down the same half round trenches.

As most of you know, the
Prez is a
diehard NASCAR fan and I don't
blame him for wanting to get his 2 cents in...ok 2 dollars now.
Ha, ha, ha, I never stop watching the NASCAR! It's not boring! Una is
a NASCAR widow!
