September 2, 2007 e-mail from Randy:
Val VPed me today and he looks great after he got new pace maker. He comes back to Deaf world. He wants to tell all Ole Bears hi! He and I will meet for silent dinner  at Lumberton on Sept.15th.

He says that he will love seeing u all again! He can not come to NCSD HC this year but he wants to go next year for the 1968 National Champions Football Banquet.

Also he thinks that he can come to Wilmington for our Class Mini-Reunion at the Wilmington Deaf Community picnic. We chatted about 1 hour and 15 min! Been long time to see him since we last met at Memphis, TN  where we played for Memphis invitational softball tournament in 1981.
